Day One: Do Now: (Short Journal) What is your favorite technological invention of today? Does it have a positive impact on your life? Does it have a negative impact on your life? Explain.
Lesson: (Day One) Students will pick a piece of technology that was developed in the United States between 1750 and 1880. Students will pick the piece of technology from one of the following areas: agriculture, food production, communication, metallurgy, textiles, and transportation. Students will research, document, and evaluate how their chosen piece of technology had a positive AND negative impact on society. They will put their project together on a PowerPoint Tri-fold slide. Rubrics and Handouts are below for this project. (To be created still)
(Day Two) Students will finish the project they have chosen to be due at the end of class. Somewhere in the project they need to tie in how they feel about the piece of technology that they have chosen.
(Day Three) (Teacher Discretion) Have the students present the technology they found to the class in a formal presentation.
