Assignments/Activities
Day One:
Do Now: (Short Journal) Would you survive having to create everything you used by hand? Why or why not? What would be some things that you have today that you might not have, if you had to make them by hand? Why?
Lesson: Students will be placed into seven groups: Slavery in the United States, Agriculture, The Plantation Economy, Cotton in the South, The pro-slavery argument (anti-slavery argument), manufacturing & trade, and the Old South. Students will take notes from the PowerPoint below on their section. Students will then continue to research their area. They need to put their own findings into a Prezi or PowerPoint that tells us about the impact each of these areas had on our history.
Field Trip: During the field trip students must find AT LEAST one piece of information that can be linked to their presentation that is relevant to their topic
Day Two:
Do Now: Write a short reflection on the field trip and what you saw that relates to the topic that you have been assigned.
Lesson: Students will present their projects to the class.
